Where are they now?
We’ve had some amazing, inspiring speakers at SheSays Brighton. In March, Imrie Morgan co-founder of podcast platform Shout Out Network dazzled us with her story of starting her first podcast Melanin Millennials. This month she ran her first all day podcast festival with live recordings and debates with American podcast stars, British podcast heroes and a very lively audience.

Tea with Sali Hughes
What are you doing on 14 September at 1pm? I’m having tea with Guardian journalist and make-up expert, Sali Hughes, at a fundraiser for Brighton Oasis Project. This local charity is a substance misuse service for women and their children. If you fancy afternoon tea (and prosecco) at Hotel Du Vin and hear Sali Hughes speak from her new book, get your ticket now. or get involved in the exciting online auction.

Inspiring Pioneers #1
Scholar Mary Beard OBE is an extraordinary academic, here she is speaking on the topic of the female voice and how women have been silenced throughout history.  Mary Beard has received huge amounts of online abuse recently for explaining that the UK has been racially diverse since Roman times, but thankfully she won’t be keeping quiet any time soon.

Inspiring Pioneers #2
Here’s a moving and inspiring video from a couple of years ago, of Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie motivating US graduates - you’ll remember her from her lecture “We Should All Be Feminists”.

Sheryl Sandberg on Desert Island Discs
Don’t miss hearing the COO of Facebook and author of awesome women in biz book, Lean In, on the BBC. Not sure about her music taste but her story is definitely worth a listen. :)

Thank you for your continued support of SheSays Brighton and see you at the next event!
